We must affirm the dignity and humanity of over 65 million people who have been forced to flee home who deserve our compassion. This is what we do as Americans. We stand in opposition to any announcement which turns our backs on refugees at a time when they are most in need of safety. Providing protection to people seeking safety is one of our nation's proudest traditions.
