Carl Crider

Reverend Carl Crider grew up in rural Arkansas, graduated from Hendrix College (BA) and from St. Paul School of Theology (MDiv). He is ordained in the United Methodist Church and has served parishes in Arkansas and Kansas.

Carl spent four years in the mid-70s as a training consultant with the U. S. Navy in Human Resource Management, especially the areas of Counter Racism and Cultural Expression. This work brought him to San Diego.

Carl has lived in North San Diego County since 1975, served three years as the Executive Director of Social Advocates for Youth, San Diego, working in the areas of juvenile justice and delinquency prevention. He started Crider Associates, a training development company, in Encinitas in 1989.

He has served on several non-profit boards and has been an active volunteer with several local non-profit agencies. He served as master of ceremonies/auctioneer for A Taste of IRC, the annual fundraiser for The International Rescue Committee in San Diego, from 2008-2018.

Carl has been a member of the ACLU since 1967 and a Board Member of the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties since 2014 and of the newly formed ACLU CA Action, based in Sacramento.


Carl advocates for social justice, civil rights, due process and the full participation of all members of our society.
